Our first transparency report
Six weeks after launch, the numbers: where Ichnus's funding comes from, what we spent it on, and what we refuse to take.
When we launched Ichnus, we promised transparency would be a feature, not a slogan. Today we are publishing our first transparency report — a six-week snapshot rather than a full year, but the principle is the same: you should be able to see where our money comes from, what we spend it on, and what we will not take.
The full report is published on the transparency page. The short version:
Where the money comes from. Since the beginning of 2025, our funding has come from philanthropic foundations, individual donations, and public research grants. Foundations make up the largest share; individual donations — from people who use Ichnus and believe in the mission — are the fastest growing.
Where it goes. The overwhelming majority goes to people and compute: researchers, engineers, and the machines that serve a free assistant to everyone who wants it. The rest covers evaluations, governance, and the ordinary costs of running an organization.
What we refuse. We have a policy of declining money that comes with strings we cannot meet. No advertising. No data sales. No funding conditioned on product decisions. No single funder holding influence over what we build.
Six weeks is too short to call any of this a track record. It is the first data point. The annual report, with audited numbers, will come in March, and the numbers after that every year. Watch them.
