Community — Curos

Ichnus is shaped by the people who use it. This page covers the Community Council, how elections work, ways to participate, and the code of conduct that keeps the community productive.

The Community Council

The Community Council is an elected body of Ichnus users that advises Curos on features, model behavior, and policy. The council has seats with staggered terms so that elections do not replace the whole body at once.

What the council does:

Meets with Curos staff on a regular schedule to review the roadmap.
Advises the Safety & Evaluations Committee on how models behave in the real world.
Brings user-reported issues, including safety concerns, to Curos directly.
Reviews proposed changes to the docs, the privacy policy, and the transparency report before publication.

The council is advisory. Curos makes final decisions, but it publishes a response to each council recommendation in the transparency report.

Elections

Elections are held twice a year and announced in the app and on this page at least 30 days ahead.

Any user in good standing, including the nominee, can nominate a candidate.
Candidates submit a short platform, limited to a few sentences, published alongside their name.
Voting is open to all users in good standing for one week.
Results are posted publicly with vote counts, and the new term starts the following month.

Seats are staggered so roughly half the council is elected in each cycle, keeping institutional memory intact.

How to participate

Vote and run. Elections are the direct way to influence the product.
Give feedback. Product feedback and model feedback flow into the community review that the council and Curos staff review together.
Answer questions. The community forum is where users help each other with prompts, workflows, and troubleshooting.

Code of conduct

The community space is governed by the Contributor Covenant code of conduct, the same code used across Curos open projects:

Be respectful and assume good faith.
Do not harass, dox, or target any participant, including Curos staff.
Keep discussions constructive; disagreement about the product is welcome, personal attacks are not.
Do not share others’ private data, including conversation content shared in confidence.

Reports are handled by community moderators and by Curos staff when moderators are not available. All maintainers act as enforcers. Reports are kept confidential and processed promptly.

Where things happen

The forum is the main gathering place for day-to-day discussion.
Election announcements, results, and council minutes are posted publicly.
The transparency report documents how the council’s advice influenced decisions.
